UAE gratuity is based on your basic salary (excluding allowances). The daily rate is your basic salary divided by 30. For the first 5 years of service, you receive 21 days' basic salary per year. Can I include pending salary in my gratuity calculation? +

Do I get gratuity if I resign in UAE? +

Yes. Under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, employees who resign receive the same full gratuity as those who are terminated โ€” provided they have completed at least one year of service. The old tiered reduction for early resignation no longer applies under the new law.

When must my employer pay gratuity, vacation, and pending salary? +

UAE law requires all end-of-service payments โ€” gratuity, accrued leave, and any pending salary โ€” to be settled within 14 days of the last working day.
